We’re Charles and Cainna Browning, the husband-and-wife team behind Kalo Connect, a small business right here on Oʻahu.Kalo Connect was born out of a simple idea: direct mail works—but it shouldn’t only be for the big guys.Cainna spent nearly a decade working in direct mail analytics, helping large international companies grow their reach through the mailbox. But while the results were powerful, the cost was out of reach for most local businesses. We knew there had to be a better way for small businesses like yours to get seen without breaking the bank.So we started Kalo Connect—a cooperative advertising postcard that brings local businesses together on one high-quality 9x12 mailer sent to thousands of targeted households on our island. That means you can show up in your community’s mailbox with a beautifully designed ad—without paying thousands to do it on your own.Charles is the graphic designer behind every postcard, and Cainna handles the planning, outreach, printing, and mailing logistics. It's just the two of us, running Kalo Korner from our home on Oʻahu, raising our kids and doing our best to support other local ʻohana trying to make it work here in Hawaiʻi.We care deeply about quality, community, and connection.
